Helen Catherine Ball

Director/Teacher Ennis native Helen Catherine Ball fulfilled her dreams after she was shortlisted for the part of Fantine for Cameron Mackintosh’s , “ Les Miserables “ and that was when she realised the career path she was to take.

Helen graduated from London’s prestigious Mountview Academy London in Musical Theatre. She worked professionally at leading venues and No. 1 theatres in the UK & Ireland, including London’s West End, Ireland’s National Concert Hall with Bill Whelan’s – “Masters of the Musicals”, Millenium Forum Derry, Cork Opera House, UL and Glor. Helen continues to perform on stage both in a theatrical and non theatrical setting, performing in a variety of styles accordingly.

One of her most acclaimed and satisfying roles was playing the part of “Mary Magdalene” in the West End UK & Northern Ireland Tour of “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Helen continued to impress auditioning for the likes of Brian May for “We Will Rock You” amongst others.

Helen was selected as the “Experts Choice” by “The Stage” publication following a performance at the Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly Circus in London.

She has made TV appearances on RTE, UTV, SKY SPORTS and other terrestrial TV. You may have even seen her on your T.V screens featuring in the Pantene Pro V Curl TV adverts.

Since her return to Ireland Helen has spent the last number of years working in both primary and secondary level education staging and choreographing school productions and events. Helen has also held drama/creativity workshops for LCA courses in Ennis.

Helen promised that she would one day return home and share her knowledge, experience and passion for musical theatre by starting up her own school. True to her word Helen set up “THEATRO School of Performing Arts”.
